Shawinigan has iced a team for every QMJHL season. The Bruins started in 1965 in the QJHL which along with the Montreal Metro loop, were the building blocks of the QMJHL in 1969. The Bruins changed their name to the Dynamos in 1973 and changed it again in 1978 to become the Cataractes. They’ve played under that name ever since. The team’s greatest success was winning the 2012 Memorial Cup as the host team. Pictured is a 1970 Bruins puck along with a current Cataractes puck.
