The original Quebec Remparts started out in 1966 in the QJHL. They became founding members of the QMJHL in 1969. They’d win a Memorial Cup in 1971 led by Guy Lafleur. With the rise of the Nordiques, interest in the Remparts fell and the team went dormant in 1985. Eventually, the club was resurrected as the Longueuil College Francais in 1988. The team would move to Verdun in 1991 and would eventually fold in 1994 with the College Francais transferring their sponsorship to the team in Laval.
