Ever heard of the Kingston Raiders? No. You’re not alone. In 1988, the Junior ‘A’ Kingston Canadians were bought by Lou Kazowski who renamed the club the Raiders adopting the silver and black of the NFL’s LA Raiders. After a dismal season, the unpopular Kazowski sold the club to local hockey legends Wren Blair and Bob Attersley who renamed the club the Frontenacs, a name that had been used by a pro club that had played in Kingston in the EPHL. Pictured is a Raiders puck from their lone season along with a current Kingston Frontenacs puck.
